The Children’s Books Genre
The Children’s Books genre includes any book or story geared at children, usually under the age of 12 or so, but can sometimes be targeted at older middle school children. Books range from short stories or picture books, to simple chapter books geared at those older but still fairly new readers.
Note that as the majority of our readers are adults, books targeted at younger children (that the adults can read the stories to) do MUCH better in terms of sign up than ones targeted at more middle grade.
Common Sub Genres/Categories
You can further define your children’s books by our free-form sub genre/category field when you place an order. Some common examples include:
Preschool, Middle Grade, Picture Books, Fantasy Adventure, Mystery, etc.
Average Sign Up Rates by Hidden Gems Readers:
Books targeted at young children usually attract between 10-20 readers.
Books targeted at older/middle grade kids usually get less, often between 5-15.

This means that if we send your book out to 100 reviewers, on average you may end up with more than 80 reviews.
